DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY

This Psychology course is about human development and the effects of nature and nurture. In the course of the semester we will cover the following:

Psychologists and their profession

Brain mechanics

Developmental theories

Stages of development

Brain processes—cogitation

Memory

Sleeping and dreams

Psychological testing

Giftedness

Maslow’s Hierarchy

Drugs and Alcohol

Mental aberrations, therapies and cures

Relationships

Transactional Analysis

The actual coursework will include selected readings, research, discussions and presentations.  There will be one essay per topic and a comprehensive final exam.
