LAB ASSIGNMENT
- Using the area map, label the major coastal cities of
the Phoenicians. Be sure to include Carthage and the other Mediterranean
colonies.
- Using the links to the left, research the importance of
Phoenicia in the ancient world.
- Why was Phoenicia important to the other cultures of
the Mediterranean? To answer this you will need to look at the many
different creations and inventions of the Phoenicians.
- Where did the Phoenicians travel to trade? What did
they trade?
- What happened to the Phoenician cities?
The Phoenician cities are one of the best examples we have
of the importance of trade. Be ready to discuss how they affected the growth
of other civilizations of the area.
