CONDUCT: Everyone is expected to behave in a gentlemanly and ladylike manner. If you do not know what that means, please ask. All Cobb County and Sprayberry rules of conduct apply.
ABSENCES: Please try to be at school. If you must be absent, please get the notes given in class while you were out. Also, and this is very important, if you are going to be absent on the day of a group presentation, please contact Lynch as above so that your fellow group members are not penalized for your absence. It is your responsibility to get any absence notes signed by the teacher. Field Trips do not excuse a student from completing classwork.
TARDIES: It is school policy that if you are tardy to class, you go to the LAS desk in the Media Center and obtain a pass. Even if you have a note from another teacher, you must go to the LAS desk and get an admit slip. Please do not make an issue of this; it is easier to just go to the LAS.
GRADES: There is no penalty for gradual enlightenment.
CHEATING: See Honor Code.
SUPPLIES: See Supply Sheet.
HELP: Please do not let problems with the class material excalate. If you realize that there is something you do not understand, please come by and see me. I am at school by 7:00am every day and am available every morning except Thursday. I can also stay in the afternoon, If you know you want to come in, please let me know so that I do not make other plans.
MEETINGS: If you and your parents want to have a meeting to discuss college plans (or anything else) please feel free to contact me and we will set up a time. I like to meet with you and your parents to talk about college.
FOOD, DRINKS, ETC: I do not really mind a bottle of water or soft drink or a snack in class as long as you do not leave the bottle or the trash for me to clean up! As for gum—if I see it, it is gone.
TELEPHONES: Telephone calls and texting violate school rules. PLEASE leave the telephone in your pocket or bookbag. If there is an emergency you may use the telephone in the room. And if a parent needs to get in touch with you during my class, he or she can call that number (above).
DEAR DAY: I will give you reading time every day. We will discuss this in class.
JOURNAL: Keep one! Find a journal you like or just use a spiral notebook--but keep a journal. Some days you will have an assignment, some days it will be free writing. I WILL NEVER READ YOUR JOURNAL. You will write in it on the honor system. Keep it safe and do not lose it!
ANYTHING ELSE? What can you think of?
