USING EXCEL TO MAKE A MAP WITH POP-UP COMMENTS
Choose a background image for the project. For a map, find a map on the internet, right click and save.
Make sure the image is 400 X 600 pixels because Excel tiles images.
Open a new Excel document.
Select Format/Sheet/Background; insert the image you saved. Make cells on the worksheet smaller by clicking above the row hearding 1 and to the right of column hearding A.
Go to Format/Column/Width and set the width to 2.0.
Remove the gridlines by selecting Tools/Options/View and unchecking in the box beside Gridlines. Then ckick OK.
Add comments by clicking on the cell nearest the location you want and select Insert/Comment in the menu bar. Type in your comments.
Click outside the cell with your comment and you will see a little red triangle to let you know there is a hidden comment.
Add other effects through the use of hyperlinks.
