One of my favorite assignments is the Camera of Love which we do in conjunction with Buddhism in the Comparative Religions class. It requires that the student have a basic understanding of Buddhism but also an intimate understanding of a friend. Before one can begin this assignment--which requires little actual work but a good bit of thought--one must think about the nature of the relationship with a friend as well as the friend's needs. Do this seriously and you will learn much about yourself, your friend and your friendship.
